Dear Members,
After a long winter of tough COVID-19 restrictions including closure of the Club, we received good news this week from Australian Sailing, following the COVID-19 announcement by the Victorian Government on Sunday 22nd November.
The Club will be reopened with an “Opening Day” for all classes on 12th December 2020.
This will be a great occasion to dust off your boat and get out on the water after a long break! Further details regarding the event will be provided shortly.
Until then, the current rules around Club access applies and the Club house remains closed, including the upstairs.
This short delay will allow us time to undertake all steps to comply with all required controls and some essential club maintenance to make sure the Club is safe, which includes a Club COVIDSafe plan – a requirement to reopening.
Once Reopened, you will be required to:
- Not come to the Club if you are feeling unwell or have been in close contact with someone from overseas – stay away and get COVID-19 tested. Protect our fellow members.
- On entry to premises, sign in every time with our SMS/QR Code tracing register – you do not need to sign out when you leave.
- Wear a mask whilst on the decks, the grass area, ramps, slipways, boat storage area and within the Club house. There is no longer a requirement to wear a mask on the water. Protect our fellow members.
- Maintain 1.5m distancing from others inside and outside, where ever possible. Protect our fellow members.
- Abide by the Room limits - to help us maintain a 4m² Rule both inside and outside.
- Regular hand hygiene and avoid shared equipment.
- Wash down Club sailing equipment with detergent and water after use.
Any other restrictions and our COVIDSafe Plan will be published as soon as it is finalised and approved.
Warm Regards
Brian Fentiman
