Learn to Sail (LTS) is our introductory training course for anyone interested in learning the basics of sailing. Participants sail in small dinghies called Pacers.
During the course, participants learn to rig a dinghy, practise basic sailing and capsizing techniques, tie knots, read weather maps and understand the basic rules and regulations of sailing.
After the course, we encourage you to join our Club and take advantage of our other programs designed to further increase your skills.
LTS Course Inclusions
• 22 hours tuition.
• All course materials, boats and life jackets are provided.
• Our LTS is taught by qualified Australian Sailing instructors and aided by experienced sailors.
• WSC is an accredited Australian Sailing Discover Sailing Centre and this course combines Start Sailing Levels 1+2.
Prerequisites
• Participants must be aged 12 + and can swim in a lifejacket for 50 metres.
Dates
We offer 2 courses each sailing season. The first one runs November-December with on-water sessions held on Saturday mornings. The second runs February-April with on-water sessions held on Sunday mornings. Enrolments open early in September and December respectively.
