Social races are scheduled on Saturdays within long weekends and at the end of the season – on these days pre-race briefing will be at 12.30pm, with launch immediately after briefing.

In order to ensure these are viable (i.e., that an adequate number of boats are going to turn up to sail and that adequate on water support can be provided for these boats), we require that you register in advance your intention to sail.

The Committee of Management has agreed that in order for a gazetted Social Sail to go ahead that there should be
(i) at least eight registered entrants
(ii) adequate on-water support available for these boats
(iii) a Sailing Committee member available on the day to oversee the event
If these requirements cannot be met, then the gazetted Social Sailing event will be formally cancelled, with all sailors being notified via the Sailor App late on the Friday evening. If the Social Sailing event is cancelled, members will, as always, be free to sail casually, but any such sailing will be without any on-water support or endorsement from the Club.

• 4th November (Melbourne Cup weekend)
• 23rd December (Christmas)
• 30th December (Christmas / New Year)
• 6th January (New Year)
• 27th January (Australia Day weekend)
• 9th March (Labour Day weekend)
• 30th March (Easter weekend)
• 18th May - if no Club Championship resail
• 25th May - end of season sail ahead of Presentation event
